Colts' Alec Pierce Has Packers Ties

Versatile Colts' Rookie Alec Pierce Has Packers Roots

Alec Pierce, wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, has a special connection to the Green Bay Packers. His father, Cedric Pierce, played wide receiver for the Packers from 1999 to 2003. Alec was born and raised in Loves Park, Illinois, just a short drive from Lambeau Field.

Pierce grew up watching his father play for the Packers and idolized Brett Favre. He dreamed of one day playing in the NFL and following in his father's footsteps. Pierce attended Rockford Lutheran High School, where he was a standout wide receiver and basketball player. After graduating high school, Pierce played college football at the University of Cincinnati.

Pierce's NFL Journey

Pierce went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft but was signed by the Colts as a free agent. He quickly impressed the Colts' coaching staff with his athleticism and route-running ability. Pierce made his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2022 season and has quickly become a reliable target for quarterback Matt Ryan.

Pierce has recorded 18 receptions for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns through the first eight games of the season. He has emerged as a key part of the Colts' offense, which is currently ranked 12th in the NFL in passing yards per game.

Pierce's Unique Perspective

Pierce's unique perspective as a player with ties to both the Colts and Packers gives him a special appreciation for the rivalry between the two teams. He is excited to play in the Packers' home stadium, Lambeau Field, for the first time in Week 12 of the 2022 season.

Pierce said, "It's going to be a special moment for me to play in Lambeau Field. I grew up watching my dad play there, and I've always dreamed of playing there myself. I'm really looking forward to it."
